Learn More About Me

I am an author, speaker, humanitarian, wife and mother, among many other things. Like most women, I wear a lot of hats. Sometimes those hats make me weary, but that’s when I turn to God for strength, patience and stamina. I have a feeling that might be true for you, too!
Currently I am the founder and director of the Journey Center in Claremont, CA, a Christ-based center for spirituality, healing and wholeness. My bachelor’s degree in theology and master’s degree in spiritual formation have equipped me for this aspect of my own life journey. Being an ordained minister is another way God has prepared me to walk the path he has set before me.
My husband, Ivan, and I live happily in Claremont, CA, and we have three “young adult” children: Ashley, who is an accomplished artist; Cassandra, who is a college student; and Trey, who is nearly a college student. Ivan, Trey and I are black belts in karate and I practice and teach T’ai Chi. We also have been given the gift of living with two beautiful dogs, L.J. and Honey, who are delightfully loving and wonderful companions.
In order to give back to the community, as well as to teach our children the value and benefits of giving, Ivan and I started a non-profit charity in conjunction with our business, BNI. Through our work with the BNI-Misner Foundation, we are able to support children’s educational programs all over the world. You can learn more about my philanthropic work at www.BNIFoundation.org.
